WindyCityRails is a gathering for all who are passionate about Ruby on Rails. Join us on Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 8am to 4pm at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
Who is it for?
Developers, designers, entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists will all find value in WindyCityRails. Developers and designers will relish the brain food of the Lecture Room. VCs and entrepreneurs will savor the networking in the Boiler Room. Academics, students, and curiosity hounds will bounce between the two rooms, drinking from a fire-hose of Rails knowledge as they go. All will benefit as we gather together in the Windy City, challenging each other to grow.
Lecture Room presentations will include:
* Rails Q & A led by David Heinemeier Hansson, creator of Ruby on Rails. Ask David anything.
* Technical: Behaviour Driven Development, by David Chelimsky, lead developer of RSpec. How can BDD help you write maintainable applications that accurately reflect business needs?
* Technical: iPhone Web Development Using Rails, by Noel Rappin, lead developer of the Rails_IUI plugin. What's the best way to leverage Rails on the iPhone?
* Business: Rails and Entrepreneurship. Moving from idea, to launch, to profitability.
The schedule will remain in a state of flux until the last possible moment so that we can keep the topics as fresh as possible. You know that feeling you get when you walk into the bakery just as they're taking donuts from the oven? Yeah, ...
